World's best Mum

It is the Easter holidays here in Kent and I am lucky to have two weeks off with the children. Obviously the first week was spent with the faithful illness I always seem to adopt at the beginning of the holidays, but now I am very excited to spend some time with my lovelies. I have one more shift at work then I am off so there will be lots of creating I'm sure.

This card is one I made for my dear mother-in-law. The image is lili of the valley and I just couldn't resist teaming it up with the adorable strawberry paper from dcwv it is glittered and everything. My mil is a keen baker and is often caught making buns so I knew I had to use this stamp when I saw it.

I coloured the image as always with my copics and finished it off with some twine, a doily, a chipboard word and some Tim Holtz letter stickers.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Whimsy Stamps - Spring Colours
Stampin Royalty - Wonderful Words

Flowers for Mum

Today I have the first of the two Mothers Day cards I made this year. This little cutie was the card that I gave to my Mum. The adorable bunny with flowers is from Wild Rose Studio and I teamed her up with various brightly coloured papers from my supplies. I seem to be addicted to bright colours at the moment - love them!

I coloured the image in with copic markers to match the chosen papers. To add some depth I distressed the edges of the papers again, and I layered a doily behind the image panel to give a little bit of texture. I used my favourite Tim Holtz alphabets and teamed them up with a chipboard word, I love the mix of fonts together.

As always here is another angle to show of some of the details on the card, I used some foam pads to lift the image and give it a little bit of dimension. I hope that all those who celebrated had a lovely mothers day yesterday. I was very lucky to get a box of chocolates the children got me specifically to share with them haha and a set of prismacolor pencils which I am very much looking forward to having a play with.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Glitter 'n' Sparkle - Mothers Day

Anniversary Bears

Here is my second anniversary card to share with you this week. This is a gorgeous Stampavie image,  I just love those cute little bears and thought they would be perfect for an anniversary card.

I coloured the image in with my copic markers and pulled some papers out from my basket. Im not too sure on the exact paper pad they came from but i do know they are my minds eye. I am loving turquoise at the moment and I think used here it just makes it a little less girly, ideal as it is for both my Nan and Grandad! The edges are all distressed again, I layered a doily and added a gingham ribbon and bow. Nice and simple but effective.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - C is for cute

Birthday Dude

Today I have a card for the boys to share with you. I always struggle with these cards, but with a 10 year old boy they have to be made. This little cutie from The Greeting Farm is just perfect for my little dudes friends. They all love scooting and skateboarding!

Such a cool image eh? Adorable and a joy to colour, but not too cute for the boys! I have no idea what papers these are, I found them in amongst my stash and then pulled the colours out and into the image. I distressed the edges of all the papers and added a sentiment with my Tim Holtz alphabet stickers and some Chit Chat stickers. A few wooden Studio Calico stars and we are finished.

Sweet Baby Alice

Today I have a special card to share with you all. This card is the main reason that I returned to crafting. My main job is as a Teaching Assistant in my local junior school and my teacher has just had a baby so I knew that working so close with her I wanted to make sure that she had a special baby card from me. The colours are really not very traditional for a baby card, but Charlotte is really not a girly person so I knew she would appreciate a more vibrant card for her new arrival. The gorgeous image is from Stampavie and I have paired it with Cosmo Cricket Fly a Kite papers - I just LOVE these bright bold papers.

I coloured the image in with my copic markers and I pulled some flowers from my stash to compliment the papers and help make the card a little more feminine! I cut a tag from an EK Success punch using matching papers from the pad and added the babies name and date of birth with Tim Holtz tiny alpha stickers. I then simply finished the card with the polkadot bow!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps - Make your mark
Stampavie and more - Baby or Childrens Birthday

This little Lili of the Valley stamp is just perfect for an anniversary card and was a lot of fun to colour.  I teamed it up with some super bright papers from MME Quite Contrary..

I coloured the image with my copic markers using the following colours:
Bunnies - E40, E41,E42, R20, R32

Trying something new!

I have been making cards for many, many years now and not once have I ever even considered trying to produce anything clean and simple. Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE the look of these cards and the freshness of the design. I adore everything about them but the thought of me actually making one? I take comfort in the patterned papers, if something goes wrong it can easily be covered with more layers, if I make a mistake colouring, no problem I will start again. Colouring straight onto the card blank terrifies me!! Well I decided it was time to take the plunge and here is the result.

I very VERY carefully coloured the beautiful Lili of the Valley - I baked a cake image in with my copic markers (petrified I was going to make a mistake as I was colouring directly onto the card blank) using the following markers:

Bear - E40, E41, E42, E44. R20, R22
Dress and Candles - BV00,BV01, BV02
Apron and Bow - BG000, BG11, BG12
Cat - W00, W1, W2, W2, R20, R22
Floor - C3, C2, C1, C00
Cake - YR00, E55, E42

I am pleasantly surprised with this card!! The white space on it still scares me and everytime I look at it I want to cover it with pretties, saying that though I do really like it. Another first is the washi tape in the corner. I know, I know it has been around now for years and years, but I took a few years break from cardmaking so for me it's still new! Not really much else to explain about the card, the sentiment was made with my favourite Tim Holtz alphabet stickers and I added a little Studio Calico heart.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Clean and Simple

Every brunette ....

Today I have a mammoth card to share with you. This is the biggest card I have ever made at 8"x8". Thankfully the image is a nice large one so holds its own on the card blank nicely. It is a really REALLY old Wild Rose Studio stamp, it is one of the first stamps I ever purchased and I still love it to this day. I paired the gorgeous image up with some random papers I had in my stash, There is definitely some DCWV and MME thrown in there for sure, gorgeous bright and cheery colours.

I coloured the image in with my copic markers again using the following colours:
Skin - E000, E00, E02, R20
Hair - E50, E43, E42, E30, E44, E47, E49
Clothes - BG13, BG11, BG00, Y15, Y11
Grass - G20, YG03, G21, G63, G67

The sentiment is one that I have always loved, and i used a mixture of alphabet stickers to compliment the papers. Two little wooden hearts finish the little tags off and a few gems, a ribbon and a rose complete the card. With such busy papers the card didn't really need anything else.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

My Sheri Crafts - Bold Colours
A Day for Daisies - Add a touch of wood (2 wooden hearts and wood effect background paper)
Morgan's Art World - For the Ladies

AUD Sentiments - Cute and a sentiment

You are Amazing

Today I have the last of the valentines cards I made for the children today. This one is for my elephant mad girlie Abigail. She is completely obsessed with them!! The gorgeous image is Bella with Presents and she is a Wild Rose Studio beauty. I thought she was perfect with her card and  stack of presents.

Once again Bella has been coloured in with copic markers to match these beautiful Wild Rose Studio papers. I always choose my papers and then colour the image and I couldn't resist this turquoise and purple design - 2 of my favourite colours!!

I coloured the beautiful image using the following copic markers,
Bella: W2, W1, W0, W00, R00, R20
Envelope: E53, E51
Presents: BG13, BG11, G00, G000, G02,
V04, V06, BV00
Grass, Flowers: G20, YG03, G21, YG63, Y17

I finished the card off with a miniature doily tucked behind the image, some Tim Holtz word stickers, a teeny chipboard heart and some gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. To even out the design I put a little trio of pearls in the top corner.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
